FREELAND, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Monday that Adrian College's Margo Joubran has earned the MIAA Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.
The senior from Mount Morris, Michigan, had a spectacular week, recording two double-doubles in three matches. She totaled 52 kills, 32 digs and five total blocks in 11 sets.
Joubran started her week with a double-double with a match-high 17 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 sweep at Kalamazoo. She continued on Friday night when the Bulldogs hosted the Alma Scots. She was the only player in the match to tally double digit kills (16), leading Adrian to a victory over Alma in three straight sets--the first home victory against the Scots since 2007 (also a 3-0 sweep). The week concluded with Joubran leading Adrian to a fifth set against No. 7 Hope for the first time since 2006. The 5'10" right-side player led the Bulldogs with 19 kills and 17 digs (her second double-double of the week, sixth of the season).
This is Joubran's first conference player of the week of the season and the second in her career.
