Bulldogs Stumble at Albion, Lose 3-1

ALBION, Mich. - The Adrian College women's volleyball finish the regular season with a conference record of 9-7 after a 3-1 loss at Albion. 

THE BASICS

Records: Adrian (15-13, 9-7), Albion (18-11, 7-9)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Adrian took the 1-0 lead after a 25-18 win in set one.

• Albion would respond by winning three straight sets to pull out the 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

TOP DOGS

Margo Joubran (18, 16) and Olivia Welch (12, 22) both tallied a double-double in kills and digs.

Marisa Dion paced the offense with 42 assists.

Haley Mellon led the defense with 29 digs. Jessica Walters also tallied 18 digs for the Bulldogs.

Cassadine Reed had a team-high four block assists.

THE OPPOSITION

• Kelsey Gustafson and Lauren Outwater led the tam with 16 kills. Stephanie Thurner (11 kills) and Taylor Rosenthal (10 kills) also contributed offensively.

• Ami Milligan had 46 assists in the match.

• Monica Shuk (33), Milligan (24), Angela Adams (18) and Outwater (16) led the team in digs.

MIAA STANDINGS

• The loss puts the Bulldogs in fourth place in the standings with a 9-7 conference record.

UP NEXT

• Adrian will travel to Calvin to play the top seeded Knights on Friday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m.
