OLIVET, Mich. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team got back to .500 in conference play with a 3-0 win over Olivet on Friday evening. Sophomore Carly Thomas hit a career-high 12 kills to lead the Bulldogs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Adrian lead for the duration of the first set eventually building a strong seven-point lead before gaining the early 1-0 lead after a set one victory. The Comets started the second set by scoring three-straight points and earning their first lead of the match. The Bulldogs would tie the score twice, once at four points and again at five. Trailing 4-3, Adrian scored five consecutive points to take an 8-4 lead and never look back. The Bulldogs scored in bunches and eventually earned the seven-point set win and a 2-0 set score advantage.

Olivet had a four-point lead over Adrian in the third but the Bulldogs scored seven straight to regain the lead, 19-16, and eventually finished off the match with a 25-20 win the third set.
Adrian hit well as a team with attack percentages of .270, .229, and .208 in the match.
TOP DOGS
• Thomas added four digs and two block assists to her team-leading stat line.
• Jenai White was an offensive force for the Bulldogs with 11 kills.
• Liz Susitko had a match-high 41 assists to pace the Adrian offense.
• Susitko also led the team on defense with 12 digs.
• Haley Mellon tallied double-digit digs for the 14th consecutive game this season. The senior defensive specialist has not recorded below 10 digs in a match all season.
THE OPPOSITION
• Both Courtney Cronkright and Madelyn Notenbaum led the Comets with six kills.
• Notenbaum also had a team-high 18 assists in the match.
• Gabrielle Mundt tallied 15 digs to help the defense.
• Morgan Champion had a match-high three block assists on the night.

Adrian will travel to face St. Mary's in MIAA action on Wednesday, September 27. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., ET.
