LANSING, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's volleyball team fell to Denison in its first contest of the MIAA/NCAC Crossover on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Denison opened the match with a two-point lead in the first set, as Adrian got its first point on a kill by Allison Ashurst, assisted by Liz Susitko to make it 2-1 in the early-goings. Despite all efforts by the Bulldogs, Denison would claim the first set 25-14 after leading the entirety the first set.
Set two was a much closer stanza, as Adrian owned the lead twice, leading from the time that the score was 8-7 in favor of the Bulldogs to 21-20, when their impressive efforts were stunted by several kills and a pair of service errors.
The Big Red controlled the third set, claiming the match with a 25-16 mark. The aggressors opened up a quick 5-0 lead before Susitko was able to land a kill for Adrian's first point of the set, assisted by classmate Megan Prsa. Adrian had a three-point run from 10-4 until 10-7, helped along by several errors by Denison and an Alex Tobler kill.
Junior Alex Tobler, who led the squad in kills with eight. She also had five digs and one block assist.
Senior Megan Prsa, who led Adrian in digs with nine. She also had two assists.
Junior Madison Federmeyer, who a team-best three block assists and one service ace. She also had one kill and one dig.
Adrian College returns to action at 10 a.m. on Saturday as it faces off with Ohio Wesleyan in the second day of the MIAA/NCAC Crossover hosted at Aim High Sports in Lansing, Mich.
