Bulldogs Fall to Nationally-Ranked Knights

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team was unable to overcome the nationally-ranked Calvin University Knights in an MIAA contest on Tuesday evening.

 

THE BASICS

Final Score: No. 2 Calvin 3, Adrian 0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-11)

Location: Adrian, Mich. (Merillat Sport and Fitness Center - Adrian College)

Records: No. 2 Calvin 20-1 (6-0 MIAA), Adrian 5-12 (1-5 MIAA)

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Knights led the entirety of the first set, owning a double digit lead for a majority of the stanza. Adrian was able to piece together a three-point run mid-way through, kicked off by a Calvin ball handling error. Megan Prsa posted the other two points on a service ace and a kill.

Set two was less competitive, but again the Bulldogs posted a three-point run, this time to bring the set within 10 (16-6) Alex Tobler began it with a kill, followed up by Grace Welch with two kills of her own.

The final set was opened by a four-point run by the Knights, which was stopped by a Madison Federmeyer kill, which was met with a kill by Senior Korbyn Koerner.

The Bulldogs return to the road on Oct. 30 as they travel to Hope for a 6:30 p.m. matchup on Wednesday.
