HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team fell in three straight at Hope College on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite getting out a 2-0 lead to open the first set, after an attack error on the hosts and a service ace by Liz Susitko, Hope quickly took over and never looked back. AC was able to slow momentum in the late goings. Forcing a pair of errors to bring the game with seven (23-16). The Flying Dutch posted the set ending points in sequence.
Set two was kicked off by a Hope four-point run, stopped by a Korbyn Koerner kill. Only once in the stanza did Adrian post two consecutive points, the series was kicked off by Megan Prsa with a kill. Classmate Emily Haas followed up with a service ace.
The final set was close in the early goings, with the Bulldogs taking the opening point on an Alex Tobler service ace. The lead changed hands three times before the Flying Dutch went on a run to open a five-point lead (9-4), halted as Tobler was able to record a kill coming out of a Bulldogs' timeout. Adrian brought the game within seven, but was unable to close the gap, as Hope took the third set and ultimately the match.
- Alex Tobler led the squad offensively with a team-best seven kills and two service aces. She was second in digs with eight and even posted on block assist.
- Grace Welch was also strong on offense, posting a second-best six kills. She also posted four digs and one block assists.
- The duo of Emily Haas and Liz Susitko each had one service ace.
The Bulldogs' season finishes up on Saturday as they host Kalamazoo and Kenyon in a triangular style pair of matchups. The day opens with a 1 p.m. contest against Kalamazoo, before closing out at 5 p.m. with Kenyon. Senior day celebrations are to follow.
