Ypsilanti, Mich. – The ACHA Division 1
team was on the road Thursday night as they traveled to take on the
Eastern Michigan Eagles in a GLCHL League contest. The
Bulldogs were able to shut down the Eagles offense throughout the
first and second period on their way to a 5-1 victory. Their
record is now 11-1 on the year and 5-0 in the GLCHL.
Senior Chad
Bonmon, in his first game back from injury, scored the first
goal of the game midway into the sixth minute to put the Bulldogs
up 1-0. The Eagles were able to hold the Bulldogs at bay for
the rest of the period. The two teams ended the first twenty
minutes with Adrian leading 1-0.
The six and a half minute mark was friendly to the Bulldogs
again in the second period as sophomore Andrew
Amodeo scored a power-play marker, which proved to be the
game-winner, from junior Jack
Goodell to put the Bulldogs up 2-0. Eastern Michigan came
out with a fire in the third period scoring their only goal of the
night past sophomore Jason
Spada only fifty-one seconds into the period cutting the
Bulldogs lead to one. Adrian's Kevin
Sunde, a sophomore, scored only ten seconds later to extend the
Bulldogs lead back to two goals. The Adrian offense was
silenced for the majority of the rest of the period mustering shots
but being unable to beat the Eastern goaltender. The Bulldogs
struck twice in the last minute of the game as freshman Joe
Anstett and junior Kyle
Peterson scored eleven seconds apart to finish off the scoring
for the night. Adrian is now 5-0 in league play.
