ADRIAN, Mich. – The ACHA Division I team took down conference foe Eastern Michigan on Nov. 23 at the Arrington Ice Arena and picked up another GLCHL victory. The Bulldogs rolled on into the Thanksgiving week defeating the Eagles by a score of 6-4. The team is not 17-4 on the season and 11-3 in the GLCHL.
The Bulldogs used three unanswered goals in the third period to run away with the game. Freshman
Ryan Bachman got things started less than a minute into the game when his 10
th goal of the season put Adrian up 1-0. The Bulldogs would hold the lead throughout the period until the final three minutes when Eastern managed to score one of their own to tie things up.
The first minute of the period proved to be important for the Bulldogs again as Max Gavin scored a power play goal thirty-eight seconds into the second period to once again give the Bulldogs the lead. Eastern managed to answer Gavin's goal about five minutes later to tie the game up once again. Spencer Bonomo gave the Bulldogs the lead with another power play goal with thirteen minutes remaining in the period. The Bulldogs went into the intermission leading 3-2.
The third period proved to be the most offensive as five total goals were scored, three from Adrian and two from EMU. Eastern got off to a strong start in the period getting the first two goals before Adrian could manage one. The Eagles took a 4-3 lead with a pair of goals 20 seconds apart just three minutes into the period. It was all Bulldogs from that point on as unanswered goals from Spencer Jordan, Joe Anstett, and Gavin put the Bulldogs up 6-4.
Matt Anderson played strong in net for Adrian turning aside 21 of 25 Eastern Michigan shots.
Adrian wraps up the 2010 portion of their season when they travel to Kent State for a 8:15 p.m. start on Friday, December 3.
