ATHENS, Ohio - The men's Division I ACHA hockey
team unfortunately missed out on the national tournament this
season but are treating this weekend's series at #3 Ohio University
as their chance to show that they belong. The Bulldogs made a
statement on Friday with a 5-3 win at Bird Arena in Athens,
Ohio.

Bonomo scored twice for the visiting Bulldogs with a first and
third period goal. Bonomo gave Adrian a 2-0 lead midway through
first with an assist from Des Cowan. Cowan scored
the first goal for Adrian just 21 seconds into the game with an
assist from Kyle Peterson. Ohio
made it 2-1 after one period as Billy Hemann scored with 2:51 left
in the opening stanza.
Ohio tied the game at 2-2 in the second period as Zach Tisdale
scored with an assist from Brett Molnar. Adrian got the next two
goals to lead 4-2 after 40 minutes. Kevin Sunde scored on
the power play at 6:42 from Tom Ciaverilla and
Chad Bonmon
and Ciaverilla scored unassisted at 7:58 for the eventual
game-winner.
Molnar got the Bobcats within one at 2:55 of the third but
Adrian got an insurance goal with 3:20 left as Bonomo's power play
goal was assisted by Alex Norman and
Sunde. Jason
Spada made 22 saves for the Bulldogs.
