The men's golf team has finished in five different places in
five MIAA Jamboree's this fall, but on Saturday it was a first
place finish for the Bulldogs hosted by Adrian at Lenawee Country
Club. The home course proved to be the difference for Adrian as
they won their first jamboree of the season with a team score of
295. The Bulldogs were four strokes better than Hope (299) and
seventh strokes ahead of Olivet (302). In addition to the win, the
Bulldogs moved into second place in the conference standings
through five rounds averaging 300.6 strokes as a team.
Freshman Tyler Manning and senior David Sreiberg were part of a
four-way tie for medalist honors with an even-par 71. Manning has
been the most consistent golfer in his first season and fired a
36-35. Sreiberg earned medalist honors earlier in the season and
might be back on track after a few subpar rounds with a 35-36.
Senior Jordan Kelly shot 76 (+5) with identical 38's and placed
tied for 11th. Freshman Zach Davenport shot 77 (+6) and tied for
18th to round out the team scoring. Freshman Brad Haley shot 81 and
tied for 30th. Freshman Sterling Emery competed as an individual
and shot 76.
