ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team finished in fourth-place at the final Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree today (Oct. 8) at the Lenawee Country Club. With the finish, the Bulldogs place fifth in the final MIAA standings. Sophomore Mac Boucher earned co-medalist honors with a tie for first-place with a score of 71 (35, 36).
For today, Adrian posted a 302 team score, which was seven strokes behind first-place finisher Trine (Ind.) University. Olivet was second at 297 followed by Hope at 299. Rounding out the finishers were Calvin (305), Albion (307), Alma (307) and Kalamazoo (314).
Hope wins the 2011 MIAA championship with an eight-round total of 2,443 strokes, followed by Trine at 2,462 strokes. Only three strokes separated third through fifth-place with Alma finishing third at 2,471; Olivet in fourth, 2,472; and Adrian, 2,474 in fifth. Calvin was sixth at 2,498, followed by Albion 2,522; and Kalamazoo 2,668.
Following Boucher's first-place finish for Adrian was sophomore Cameron McKee who tied for 17th at 76 (38, 38). Close behind were freshman Karter Clark at 77 (40, 37) and sophomore Connor Doria at 78 (38, 40) who tied for 24th and 29th, respectively.
Rounding out the scorers for Adrian was sophomore Brad Haley who shot a 80 (38-42), good for 38th.
