Adrian Starts October at the Orange & Black Classic in Centerville, Ohio, Ending Up 15th Out of 26 Teams

CENTERVILLE, Ohio -- The Adrian College women's bowling team opened the month of October over the weekend at the University of Pikeville Orange & Black Classic at Poelking Lanes South, where it ended up in 15th place out of 26 teams. The Bulldogs had a total of 4,351 to best several Division I opponents such as Ohio State and Indiana State.

Adrian's best game came in the third, rolling a 963 to rank fourth in that stage.

Senior Taylor Ouellette, in a bit of a homecoming since she hails from nearby Beavercreek, led the Bulldogs with a 920 for 50th place. Right behind her were junior Brittney Antonelli and sophomore Noelle Scheuer who bowled 917 and 916 for 52nd and 53rd, respectively.

The host Bears qualified first with a total team pin fall of 8,344, but were edged 3-2 in the championship-round finals by Urbana. Pikeville's Fallon Tallman was the leading individual with an overall score of 1,087 pins at an average of 217.4 per game.

The Bulldogs return to the lanes on Saturday at the Siena Heights University Halo Invitational at Ten-Pin Alley in Tecumseh, Mich.
