CANTON, Mich.--Adrian College recently competed in its first two American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Tournaments of the 2015-16 season here at Super Bowl.
In the first conference tournament of the year, the Adrian women persevered throughout the day and ended up in 10th place out of 20 teams. Junior Brittney Antonelli finished in 18th place overall with a 194.8 average over five games.
In the AHIBC #2 the following day, the Bulldogs started off very strong and were in fifth place after individual games where three of Adrian's bowlers finished in the top-30. Antonelli ranked sixth while averaging 208.25, sophomore Noelle Scheuer finished 25th with a 189.25 and classmate Jennifer Kelly came in 26th with a 188.75 average. The team ran into a little trouble in the baker games, but still managed to finish 12th out of 19 schools.
"Overall, I was very happy with how the team responded under new leadership in their first two tournaments," stated first-year head coach John Essenmacher III. "I know we will get better, and the team does too. We are improving every day and learning every day, and that is what we need to do."
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they host the Adrian College Open, their home opener. The next conference events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30-31, in Wickliffe, Ohio.
