BEAVERCREEK, Ohio--The Adrian College women's bowling team turned in a solid performance at a competitive Roto Grip Raider Classic hosted by Wright State University at Beaver-Vu Bowl. The Bulldogs finished seventh out of 23 teams with a total of 8,493 pins, narrowly missing the cut of top four teams. Adrian was in sixth place after Day 1.
The Bulldogs were led by senior Taylor Ouellette who wound up in 11th place with a 205 average for five games, or a total of 1025, in her homecoming after graduating from Beavercreek High School. In addition, sophomore Jennifer Kelly (24th, 194.6 average, 973 total) and classmate Noelle Scheuer (27th, 192.4, 962) had top-30 finishes out of over 100 competitors.
"Our women had another great finish, continuing a trend that shows improvement and very high placings in tournaments," Adrian coach John Essenmacher III said. "As a coaching staff, we are happy with how the girls have come along since the start of the year."
Wright State Green scored 369 pins in the championship round to down Notre Dame College, which had 319. The University of Pikeville had a grand total 8,869 pins during the two-day tournament.
Adrian will close out the fall semester schedule on Saturday when it travels to Rossford, Ohio, for the Bowling Green State University Falcon Classic.
