The Adrian College Division I ACHA Squad won their fifth straight contest on Friday night as they traveled to Eastern Michigan and downed the Eagles 10-1 in the Taylor, Michigan. The game marks the fifth straight contest that the Bulldogs have score seven goals or more as Adrian ran their season record to 9-1 on the year.
The Bulldogs received two goals apiece from sophomore forward Brad Kobryn, junior defender Nick Goettel and junior forward Chris Derochie and single markers from Bobby Bodette, Ted Anstett, Zack MacKay, and Archie McKinnon.
Adrian jumped off a quick 2-0 first period advantage on goals by Bodette and Anstett. Adrian then put the game away in period number two starting with a goal by Mackay, and then the first goals by Kobryn, Goettel and Derochie bringing the score to 6-0.
Adrian score four goals again in the third period as the three struck again with the goal by McKinnon added in for good measure bring the score to 10-0.
EMU's lone goal was scored by Luke Dmytro in the third to deny Adrian the shutout, as junior goaltender Matt Schnoes made 13 saves to earn the win.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 7:30 in Taylor, Michigan at the Taylor Sportsplex.
