ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian goaltender Austyn Roudebush was perfect on Saturday night, turning away 24 Kent State shots to earn the shutout as the ACHA Division I Bulldogs swept their two game series with the Golden Flashes with a 4-0 win at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Bulldogs held the Kent State offense to just one goal over the weekend, as they won the first game 5-1 at Kent State. On Saturday Adrian got all the offense it would need on Zack MacKay's fifth goal of the season just 7:19 into the contest, set up with assists by Chris Derochie and Josh Hosking.
The score remained 1-0 Adrian until early in the third period when Sam Johnston pushed the Bulldogs advantage to two with an even strength goal just 3:39 in.
Adrian took a commanding 3-0 lead with 8:26 remaining, when Brad Kobryn got loose and scored shorthanded with assists from Matt Schwehr and Nick Goettle. It was Kobryn's 32nd goal of the year.
Adrian struck for a final time on the evening with a power play goal by Justin Fisher, with Goettle and Derochie picking up assists.
With the victory, Adrian is now 19-5 on the season and will look for their 20th win of the season on Friday night at Western Michigan's Lawson Ice Arena when the face-off against the Stallions. Adrian returns home on Saturday at 7 p.m.
