DOVER, Ohio--The Adrian College men's golf team had a successful 2016-17 season debut on Saturday by shooting a 300 for a third-place tie after the first round of the Gatorade Collegiate Invitational at Zoar Village Golf Course.
Adrian will wrap up the tournament's final round of another 18 holes at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Sophomore Andrew Skibski had a 73 tied for seventh overall to pace the Adrian score, followed by junior Zak Hart (75, T-15th), Mo Harb (75, T-15th) and freshman Logan Heffner (77, T-33rd). Senior Joseph Richards added a 78 for T-39th.
Tournament host the College of Wooster has a 312. Ohio Wesleyan University leads the 10-team field with a 282 while Allegheny College (299) is one shot ahead of Adrian and Capital University.
OWU Battling Bishops teammates Adam Armstrong and Will Efkeman are tied for first overall with a 67 apiece.
