DELAWARE, Ohio--The Adrian College men's golf team began its spring portion of the 2016-17 schedule at the two-day Strimer Memorial Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at the Oakhaven Golf Club, where the Bulldogs finished fourth with a team total of 333+318=651.
Adrian finished up the tournament's final day on Sunday on a good note with a 318, which were 15 strokes better than its first 18 holes collectively. That tied Denison University for the best improvement over the last 18.
Sophomore Andrew Skibski led Adrian with a 81+72=153 for 11th place overall out of 31 individuals. Classmate Brandon McLean was next with a 82+84=166 for a 19th-place tie, freshman Logan Heffner had a 89+79=168 for 22nd, sophomore Mo Harb shot a 81+88=169 for T-23rd, and classmate Johnathan Roscoe turned in a 91+83=174 for 26th to round out the Bulldogs' lineup.
The host OWU Battling Bishops won the team crown with a 306+294=600, while Denison's Jonathan Taylor took medalist honors with a 73+ 71=144 for 2-over-par.
Adrian returns to the links next Saturday and Sunday at the Denison/Ted Barclay Spring Invitational in Granville, Ohio at the Denison Golf Club. The first day will start at 1 p.m., followed by the conclusion at 9 a.m. the following day.
