JACKSON, Mich.--The Adrian College men's golf team finished in fourth place at the seven-team Irish Hills Intercollegiate Invitational at The Grande Golf Club on Saturday. The host Bulldogs concluded the 36-hole tournament with a team score of 317+308=625.
Adrian junior Andrew Skibski fired an even-par 144 (71+73) on the 6,980-yard course to pace the Bulldogs contingent, winding up 38th overall. Also contributing to the AC team score were freshman Noah Kosal (80+79=159, T-18th), senior Zak Hart (82+80=162, T-22nd) and junior Johnathan Roscoe (86+76=162, T-22nd), while freshman Brett McGugan (84+84=168, T-31st) rounded out the first unit lineup.
Hope College won the team title with a 279+286=565, and the Flying Dutchmen's Josh Gibson was the medalist with a 15-under 129 (61+68).
Competing for the Bulldogs "B" team were freshman Hayden Winch (80+83=163, T-25th), senior Josh Hosking (86+81=167, T-29th), junior Jack Stover (81+90=171, T-34th), freshman Carter Clarke (85+86=171, T-34th), juniors Trevor Boyd (90+86=176, 37th), Bryan Yim (88+91=179, 38th).
Up next, Adrian will serve as host for the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on the fall schedule on Tuesday at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian. Start time for the event is 1 p.m.
