@ACBulldogGolf Improves 24 Shots to Conclude Season Opening Event

DOVER, Ohio--The Adrian College men's golf team shaved off 24 strokes from Saturday's first round to shoot a 324+300=624 team score and finish eighth at the College of Wooster Gatorade Collegiate Invitational held at the par 72, 6730-yard Zoar Golf Club.

Junior Andrew Skibski paced the Bulldogs cause with a 79+70=149, finishing five-over-par and tied for 10th place out of 66 individuals. Senior Zak Hart (79+77=156, T-35th), freshman Brett McGugan (86+74=160, T-43rd), junior Johnathan Roscoe (85+79=164, T-50th) and freshman Hayden Winch (81+87=168, 56th) rounded out the lineup for the Bulldogs.

Adrian had the second-lowest team score on Sunday behind Allegheny College, 297 to 300. The Bulldogs, who were in ninth place after 18 holes, also had the biggest improvement (24 shots) over the final 18.

There was a three-way tie for medalist as Allegheny teammates Bobby Hapanowicz (70+74), Matthew Del Rosso (71+73), and Wooster's Colin O'Hern (70+74) were even-par at 144.

Allegheny College won the tournament for the second time in the fourth year of its existence. The Gators (291+297=588) defeated Lynchburg by 10 shots.

After a bye week, the Bulldogs are back on the course Friday and Saturday, Sep. 15-16, when they serve as host of the Irish Hills Intercollegiate Invitational at the Grande Golf Club in Jackson, Mich.
