Men's Golf Improves Six Shots, One Place at Gatorade Collegiate Invitational

DOVER, Ohio--The Adrian College men's golf team wrapped up the first event of the season on Sunday by improving six shots and up a spot at the Gatorade Collegiate Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at the Zoar Village Golf Course. The Bulldogs shot a 303+297=600 as a team for fifth place 

Sophomores Brett McGugan (74+74=148, T-13th) and Hayden Winch (78+70=148, T-13th) led the Bulldogs charge by tying for 13th place overall. For McGugan, he was steady over the weekend by shooting a 74 in both rounds. Winch shot Adrian's lowest score at 70 on Sunday and jumped a whopping 20 places.

Also participating for the Bulldogs were senior Andrew Skibski (76+75=151, T-23rd, freshman Jackson Tellerico (77+78=155, T-30th) and classmate AJ Clark (76+80=156, T-32nd).

Baldwin-Wallace led the eight-team standings with a 290+292=582. Rosemont College's (298+305=603, 6th place) Michael Lange over took Tyler Overburg of Miami-Hamilton for medalist honors, winning with a 5-under par 139 (72+67).

Adrian hits the course again on Wednesday, Sep. 12, at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #1 hosted by Olivet College. It is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at the Bedford Valley Golf Course.
