HARDEEVILLE, S.C.--The Adrian College men's golf team is off to a strong start to its spring season at the nine-team Pfeiffer University Invitational, scoring a 316 for fourth place after 18 holes on Monday. The tournament's final 18 holes will be held tomorrow here at the 6,952-yard course on The Club at Hilton Head Lakes, beginning at 9 a.m.
Freshman A.J. Clark paces the Bulldogs after the first day by carding a four-over 76 for a fifth-place tie out of 46 student-athletes. Also contributing to the team score were senior Andrew Skibski with a 79 (T-12th) and sophomores Hayden Winch (T-15th), Brett McGugan (T-18th) who had 80 and 81, respectively.
Freshman Jackson Tellerico (82, T-24th), sophomore Noah Kosal (86, T-35th) and freshman Grant Terris (90, T-39th) also are competing for the Bulldogs, who are ahead of NCAA Division II Alderson Broaddus (347, T-7th).
Division II Mars Hill leads the team standings with a 292 and the host Pfeiffer Falcons, who are a former Division I program, are tied for seventh with a 347.
Mars Hill teammates Stephen Thomasson and Nicholas Boone rank 1-2 with a 71 and 72, respectively, individually.
