DOVER, Ohio--The Adrian College men's golf squad concluded its season-opening event on Sunday at the College of Wooster Gatorade Collegiate Invitational here at the Zoar Village Golf Course. The Bulldogs had a team score of 310+312=622 to wind up in seventh place.
Junior Brett McGugan paced Adrian with a 75+76=151 for an 11th-place tie overall out of 54 individuals and former three-year Bulldogs tennis student-athlete senior Nolan Duda posted a 74+78=152 for T-14th. Rounding out the Adrian lineup were freshman Trevor Benoit (81+76=157, T-27th), sophomore Brett Dudeck (80+82=162, T-42nd) and freshman Jack Johnson (84+85=169, 46th). Benoit had the team's biggest improvement during the final 18 holes, shaving off five shots from Saturday's 81.
Baldwin Wallace (295+300=595) edged Marietta (299+301=600) to repeat its team crown in this event, while Yellow Jackets teammates Jimmy Clark (73+70=143) and Logan Bratsch (71 +72=143) shared co-medalist honors.
Next up is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #1 on Monday, Sep. 9, at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive, Mich. It is hosted by Hope College with a 1 p.m. starting time.
