Adrian College Inducts Bill Badour to Athletics Hall of Fame

ADRIAN, Mich. -- With every Adrian College Homecoming, the Bulldogs induct a new class of Hall of Fame members. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 induction ceremony was put on hold, and Adrian College decide to not induct a 2020 class. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2021 and the accomplishments each of them made during their time at Adrian College.

Our first inductee is William "Bill" Badour from the Class of 1989 and the Adrian College football team. Bill graduated Adrian College with a bachelor's degree in sociology and went on to have a successful career in the criminal justice field. Badour works as a Deputy Sheriff for the County of Sonoma in California. He received the Medal of Valor in 2017 and a Life Saving Medal from the Vallejo Police Department in 2016. He was also named the Berkeley Police Officer of the Year in 2000.

During his time at Adrian, Badour was a member of the football team and won MIAA Championships in 1988 and 1989 under head coach Ron Labadie.

"The work ethic and values instilled upon me by Coach Labadie and his staff have had a great impact on my life," said Badour. "In four years Coach Labadie and his staff turned boys into young men equipped with all the tools to be productive members of society.  I have been a Police Officer for 30 years. From day one on the job, I have used the tools provided by Coach Labadie and his staff to get me through some horrible events that I had to endure over a long law enforcement career. For that, I thank each and every one of them."

As an individual, Bill Badour was named First Team All-MIAA in 1988 and 1989. He was named Team MVP and the MIAA MVP in 1988 which led to being named Co-Captain in 1989. Badour was sixth in the MIAA in total offense with 525 rushing yards and led the conference in touchdowns with 10. In 1989, he collected eight more touchdowns to lead the MIAA and was third in All-Purpose Running with 601 total yards resulting in 120.2 yards per game.

One of Bill's favorite memories was living together with his college roommates who he is still great friends with today.
"There were six of us that lived together back in college and we are still great friends to this day," Badour said. "Jeff Antcliff (current Deputy Chief Flint PD), Nick Zambeck (retired FBI HRT supervisor), Aaron Hunt (Lt with Michigan State Police), Ricci Woodall (Detroit DEA), Matt Flower, and Brian Brace who both were the only smart ones and did not choose a career in Law Enforcement. Love you guys!"

Bill resides in Fairfield, California with his wife Ann. He is the father of Austin (33) and Dakota (28).
