ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA D1 hockey team took on a heated rival, the Liberty University Flames over the weekend coming out with a 3-2 shootout loss in game one and a dominating 6-2 win in game two.

Friday night's tilt saw exciting back and forth action all game, with Bulldog goals coming from
Dylan Gajewski and sophomore forward,
Sebastian Smith, who finished the weekend with four points. The Liberty Flames were able to grab one late in the third period to force extra time and eventually win in a shootout. Goaltender
Noah Decottignies was stellar in net, making 34 saves on 36 shots.

Saturday afternoon's matchup was all Adrian as the Bulldogs got off to a hot start with senior forward
Sam Spaedt opening up the scoring only 33 seconds into the game. The Bulldogs then received three goals from freshman forward
Dylan Gajewski (first career collegiate hat trick), fifth year forward
Tyler Fyfe and junior forward
Nash Hatcher. Goaltender
Noah Decottignies was lights out again, making 34 saves on 36 shots to earn the win in goal.

The MD1 Bulldogs, who now sit at 7-0-1, will have a busy week ahead of them as they take on GLCHL opponents, the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies for a home and home series on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday night. Puck drop on Wednesday will be at 3:30PM in Oakland, with Thursday's puck drop going for 7:30PM at the Arrington Ice Arena. The team will then welcome the University of Arizona Wildcats to the Arrington Ice Arena for a 7:00PM puck drop on Saturday's Youth Hockey/AOTHA night.
