ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA D1 hockey team opened up their season with a two-game home set over the weekend, taking on the Culver Girls Academy in an exhibition tune-up and the University of Michigan Wolverines in their opening CCWHA conference match-up.
 
The Bulldogs, who are entering their season with a whole new coaching staff, six incoming freshmen and two transfers, started off strong with a 4-3 loss to the Culver Girls Academy, in a close and exciting game. They then bounced back and followed it up with a dominant 3-1 win over U-of-M. Sunday's win over the Wolverines saw goals from graduate student Erika McDonald, sophomore Keira Eagleson and freshman newcomer Ashlynn Stitt recording her first collegiate goal.
 
Freshman goaltender, Judith Schneider, earned her first collegiate win in goal, stopping 22 of 23 shots.
 
The WD1 Bulldogs are set to take on the Concordia University-Ann Arbor Cardinals, in a CCWHA match-up, this Thursday at 8:00PM in Ann Arbor, then return home to the Arrington Ice Arena for another exhibition tune-up against Gilmour Academy on Friday night at 7:00PM.
