ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 1 hockey team took down GLCHL opponent, Grand Valley State University for the second time this season this past Thursday night by a score of 7-2. The Bulldogs then suffered a tough loss to Niagara University on Friday night, 4-3.
Thursday's conference match-up was all Adrian, as the Bulldogs put up six unanswered goals before GVSU could get on the scoreboard. Graduate student forward
Tyler Fyfe finished the night with three goals and an assist, while forwards
Sam Spaedt,
Justin Jamer,
Connor Smith and
Brenden Stanko also recorded tallies in the win. Goaltender
Noah Decottignies' 27 saves earned the victory between the pipes.
Friday night's 10:15 PM contest saw the Bulldogs outshoot Niagara University, 39-19, but some tough puck luck led to a Purple Eagles victory. Freshman forward
Justin Jamer scored twice for the Bulldogs, while sophomore forward
Sebastian Smith also found the back of the net.
This week, the MD1 Bulldogs will clash against GLCHL rivals, the Davenport University Panthers in a home and home series. Thursday will see the Bulldogs and Panthers face off at the Arrington Ice Arena at 7:30 PM, before the two teams take the ice in Grand Rapids on Saturday night at 8:30 PM.
