ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College women's wrestling team placed first in this weekend's Albion College Invite after scoring 90.5 points as a team.
Senior Anglea LoRusso of the 116 class placed second in this weekend's invite with 16.5 team points. After receiving a first-round bye, LoRusso would win by tech falls over Madeline Ridge (East Stroudsburg University) (TF 10-0) in the quarterfinal and Natalie Dunn (East Stroudsburg University) (Fall 1:55) in the semifinal. In the first-place match, Emily Klein (East Stroudsburg University) would defeat LoRusso by tech fall (TF 14-4).
In the 136 class, junior Shawna Oesterling would win by tech fall over Isabella Ruiz of Greensboro College for the third-place title (TF 10-0).
Bulldogs Clasrissa Agostini and Taylor Cutler faced off for the first-place title of the 143 class this weekend. During the match, Agostini would win by fall over Taylor Cutler (Fall 1:00). With her victory, Agostini would take first while Cutler would take second as the runner-up.
In the 155 class, after facing off against Noelle Gaffney of Northern Michigan University for the first-place title, Megan Vondrasek placed second as the runner-up, while Aspen Dodge won by fall over Zoë Hussar of Siena Heights for third place.
In the first-place match for the 170 class, sophomore Kayley Rada faced off against Lydia Krauss of Northern Michigan University. Lydia Krauss would win by fall over Kayley Rada (Fall 1:10), and Rada would place second this afternoon.
Additionally, Isabel Worthing of the 143 class would place 6th on the afternoon.
