ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College club softball team finished the fall season on a high note with a three-game sweep over Oakland University last weekend. The Bulldogs came away with winning scores of 13-2, 12-4, and 22-14. With the sweep, Adrian snapped a seven-game losing streak.
 
In the first game, the Bulldogs got going early scoring eight runs in the first two innings. Alexia Tobias homered in the second to drive in two. Adrian went on to score five in the fourth inning to complete the mercy rule. Lyta Glombowski finished the game with three hits for Adrian with a pair of RBIs. Gabrielle Buehrer also knocked in a pair of runs. Buehrer went the distance on the mound with five innings pitched allowing one earned run on five hits with eight strikeouts.
 
Adrian continued the scoring in the second game recording another mercy rule. The Bulldogs scored two in the first, four in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth, and two in the fifth. Glombowski continued her day at the plate finishing the second game 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Rachel Lozon got the start on the rubber in game two pitching five innings allowing one earned run on five hits with two strikeouts.
 
Adrian went down early in the third and final game of the day as they trailed 14-4 entering the bottom of the fifth. The Bulldogs cut into the deficit scoring four runs in the bottom half of the inning to trail 14-8. After holding the Golden Grizzlies scoreless in the sixth, the Bulldogs exploded for 14 runs in the bottom of the inning. Haley Holmes finished the game 3-for-4 with four RBIS with the help of a double and a triple. Kerri Selzer, Glombowski, Gabrielle Udell and Ashlyn Vaculik finished with multi-hit games. Holmes picked up the win on the mound as she threw four innings allowing three earned runs on seven hits with a strikeout.
 
The fall season for the Bulldogs concludes with a 4-12 record and will continue in the spring of 2023. Stay tuned to adrianbulldogs.com for future schedule updates.
