PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 1 hockey team, who came out as the No. 6 team in the country after last week's first official ACHA computer rankings, swept No. 11 Pittsburgh on the road over the weekend by scores of 9-1 and 4-1.
Friday evening's tilt saw the Bulldogs' heavy offense go to work, as
Nash Hatcher,
Cameron Armstrong,
Dakota Bohn,
Sam Spaedt, and
Tyler Fyfe found the back of the net while Matt DiCesare and
Connor Smith scored twice.. Goaltender
Noah Decottignies made 19 saves in the win.
The Bulldogs closed out the series in Saturday's matinee contest with an opening goal from
Cameron Armstrong, two power play goals from
Brodie Thornton, and a cherry on top from
Nash Hatcher. Goaltender
Noah Decottignies stopped 31 of 32 shots for his 9th win of the season.
The MD1 Bulldogs will host Grand Valley State University and Niagara University this Thursday (7:30 PM) and Friday (9:45 PM) at the Arrington Ice Arena. Thursday's GLCHL match-up between the Bulldogs and Lakers will be AOTHA/Youth Hockey Night.
