HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team faced elimination on Thursday in the MIAA Tournament as they took on Calvin University. Things didn't go Adrian's way and lost to Calvin 11-8 to be eliminated from the tournament and end the season.
Ryan Davis started the game with a RBI double to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Calvin responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 3-1.
Easton Rogers homered in the second inning for Adrian followed by a 2-RBI single from
Don Goodes to take a 4-3 lead. Calvin went on to answer in the bottom of the inning to tie the game 4-4.
In the third inning, Adrian went on to score three more runs and lead 7-4.
Ty Peck singled in a run followed by a sacrifice fly from
Gus Weaks and a RBI double from
Thomas Miller. Calvin scratched two runs across in the bottom of the inning to make it a 7-6 Adrian lead. Rogers singled in another run in the fourth inning, but Calvin answered again and tied the game 8-8.
It wasn't until the sixth inning when Calvin took to lead at 9-8 followed by two more runs from the Knights in the eighth to lead 11-8. The Bulldogs were held scoreless the rest of the way and lost 11-8.

Michael Swanson,
Dylan Johnson, and
AJ Miranda.
Adrian's season comes to an end as they finish the year with a 21-20 record.
