GUELPH, Ontario – The Adrian College women's wrestling coaching staff and students totaled six top-four finishes at the Guelph Open Sunday. Coach

Taylor Cutler placed second in their respective classes Sunday afternoon.
In the 50kg third-place match, junior Emily Mendez lost by tech fall to Rianne Murphy (Region Wrestling Academy). Mendez would place fourth this afternoon.
In the 65kg weight class, junior Taylor Cutler placed second after winning two out of her three matches today, while Nyla Burgess placed third and Isabel Worthing placed fourth. Cutler would win two out of her three matches today, with victories via fall over and by decision. After her first match defeat, Cutler strung together back-to-back victories, one by fall over fellow Bulldog Isabel Worthing, and the other by decision.
Additionally, Nyla Burgess of the 65kg class placed 3rd after scoring five team points for the Bulldogs. After receiving a first-round bye, Burgess won by fall over Madison Clayton (Lakehead WC). Burgess' lone defeat occurred in the semifinal match against Kayla Bednarcik (Cat-town WC) by decision. The sophomore responded and finished the afternoon strong with back-to-back victories to conclude the open. In the consolation semifinal, Burgess won by fall over Natalie Vecchio (McMaster). In the third 3rd place match, she would win by fall over again. This time, defeating Simi Jayeoba (McMaster).
During the open, coaching staff members Zoe Nowicki and Taylor Ticknor competed. On her way to the first-place match in the 59kg class, Nowicki would advance on back-to-back fall-over wins. In the first-place match Hannah Taylor (Brock WC) won by tech fall over Nowicki. Nowicki placed second in the 59kg class this afternoon. Additionally, coach Taylor Tickner of the men's 57kg class placed 4th this afternoon.
