ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team won their only game over the weekend, shutting out the University of Michigan-Dearborn by a score of 6-0 at home on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Wolverines 61-20 in the contest. Freshman forward Taylor Robinson opened the scoring for Adrian in the first period, scoring her first collegiate goal while on the penalty kill. Sophomore forwards Rhea Peterson and Tess McKerrow would also find the back of the net in the first period to put the Bulldogs up by three tallies after one period of play. The Bulldogs continued to press in the final two periods, as freshman forward Macy Piche would pot two consecutive goals of her own, before McKerrow eventually potted her second of the game to make it a 6-0 final. Sophomore defenseman Allison Shaw collected three assists, while freshmen forwards Ashlynn Stitt and Tyla Turnbull each provided two helpers. Goaltender Judith Schneider earned the win and shutout in goal, stopping all 20 shots she faced.
The No. 2 WD1 Bulldogs are back in action this weekend for a three-game set, as they host Maryville University at the Arrington Ice Arena on Friday (10:00 PM) and Saturday (7:00 PM), before they travel to Ann Arbor on Sunday to take on the University of Michigan at 3:30 PM.
