FORT WAYNE, IN. -- Bulldogs Angela LoRusso and Emily Mendez secured third and fourth places in their respective classes to lead the Adrian College women's wrestling team this weekend at the Indiana Tech Warrior Women's Open.
In the 109 class, the junior Mendez placed fourth today after Valeria Ahumada of Siena Heights won by decision during the third-place match. Today's fourth-place finish was Mendez's best placement since last year's NCWWC NE Regional Qualifier, in which Mendez placed first.
For the Bulldogs in the 116 class, Angela LoRusso placed third after her victorious third-place match. The senior LoRusso would win by fall over Riley White of Missouri Baptist. With the win, LoRusso improved her overall record to 7-2 on the year.
In the 130 class, freshman Isabella Richardson would place eighth, while junior Shawna Oesterling of the 136 class placed 6th. In the seventh place match, Olivia Hogan (University of the Cumberlands) won by fall over Isabella Richardson. During the fifth-place match, Hannah Palise (Albion) won by decision over Shawna Oesterling.
