LOUISVILLE KY. – The Adrian College women's wrestling team finished the NWCA National Duals Saturday with a 2-3 record on the weekend.
In the Bulldog's first matchup, the women's wrestling team was defeated by Presbyterian 27-22. Mackenzie Tayerle, Clarissa Agostini, Megan Vondrasek, Kayley Rada, and Sienna Lejeune picked up wins for the Bulldogs in their first matchup.
Graduate student Mackenzie Tayerle defeated Olivia Waller from Presbyterian via tech fall and Megan Vondrasek was victorious over Isabella Badon via fall during this afternoon's duals.
Fifth-ranked Clarisa Agostini had two victories during the afternoon. In her first match, Agostini defeated Paige Wehrmeister of Presbyterian college by decision. Following her win over Wehrmeister, Agostini again would come out on top victorious in her second match. This time, Agostini defeated Alana Duggan of Lindenwood by decision to go 2-0 on the day.
In their second matchup during the consolation round, the Bulldogs were able to bounce back and defeat Lindenwood 25-17.
During the consolation round, sophomore Nyla Burgess of the 155 class continued her winning form, this time defeating Julianna Moreno of Lindenwood via Tech Fall.
In the 109 class, junior Emily Mendez picked up a big win, defeating McKenzie Gilreath of Lindenwood by decision 3-1.
Junior Aspen Dodge and sophomore Kayley Rada also ended the afternoon victorious. Dodge of the 170 class, defeated Sierra Hall of Lindenwood this afternoon, and Rada of the 191 class won via tech fall over Kennedy Eggering of Lindenwood.
In their second victory of the weekend, the Bulldogs defeated Emmanuel College (Ga.) by a score of 25-22 Saturday morning.
Taylor Cutler and Megan Vondrasek would pick up victories against their opponents via fall, while Emily Mendez would defeat Dinayah Vazquez of Emmanuel via tech fall.
Additionally, Shawna Oesterling defeated Samantha Larios by decision in the afternoon to award the Bulldogs three points.
Later, in the Bulldogs afternoon clash with Lock Haven University, Carleigh Czerneski was able to continue her solid form, this time defeating Carly Gross of Lock Haven via fall. Additionally, Bulldogs Megan Vondrasek and Nyla Burgess picked up victories during the afternoon via forfeit. However, the Bulldogs would ultimately fall to Lock Haven 17-26.
