GRANVILLE, Ohio. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 2 hockey team continued their hot start to the season, completing the sweep of Denison University after an 11-3 win and 4-1 win.
The Bulldogs and Big Red met for the second time this season last Thursday night with the Bulldogs earning a commanding win at home.
Dominic Melone and
Ryan Hoover both scored twice in the game, while
Jack Kraemer,
Willie McGuire,
Tyler Ackerman (first ACHA goal),
Greg Obrycki,
Joey Finfer,
Griffin Clark, and
Will Nicholson completed the scoring. Defenseman
Shaun Potts collected four assists on the backend for Adrian and goaltender
Peyton Lenger made 25 saves on 28 shots for the victory.
After a day off on Friday, the two teams completed the series on the road at Denison on Saturday night. It was the Big Red who scored first, five minutes into the second period before
Tyler Hissong answered for the Bulldogs to tie it at one after two periods.
Jack Kraemer,
Steven Cope, and Brayden Morris each added goals in the final frame to secure another Bulldog win. Lenger earned his third straight victory in between the pipes, stopping 28 of 29 shots. In the two games, the undefeated Bulldogs managed 117 shots on goal.
The MD2 Bulldogs will host Lake Superior State University on October 27-28 at the Arrington Ice Arena. Puck drops at 7:00 PM and 1:00 PM respectively.
