HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 2 hockey team swept Purdue University Northwest this weekend, defeating the Pride 7-3 at home and 5-0 on the road.
The Bulldogs offense went off for seven at home in game one, thanks to goals from
Jack Kraemer,
Will Nicholson,
Marcus Mack, and two each from
Brayden Morris and
Shaun Potts. The high-powered offensive effort was no match for PNW who only put three goals past Adrian netminder,
Peyton Lenger, who made 23 saves in the win.
Dominic Melone and
Braeden Gray each added two assists for the winning team.
The Bulldogs traveled to Hammond, Indiana to close out the series on Sunday, putting together another strong offensive effort, this time scoring five and shutting out the Pride thanks to 29 saves from goaltender
Alexander Herman.
Matthew Krueger scored his first ACHA goal in the contest while
Sam Carper, Kraemer, and Morris also found the score sheet for the Bulldogs.
The MD2 Bulldogs, who sit at No. 10 in the ACHA Division 2 Central Region, are set to take on Aurora University next weekend on November 17-18 in a home and home matchup. Puck drop for game one goes on Friday at 3:00 PM EST in Chicago, while game two goes at 7:00 PM at the Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday.
