ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 2 hockey team closed out their regular season schedule by dropping two contests to Michigan State University over the weekend, losing 5-2 on the road on Friday, and 5-4 in a shootout at home on Saturday. The Bulldogs also hosted their Senior Night celebration before the game on Saturday night. Seniors

Steven Cope were all recognized for their efforts and accomplishments during their four years with the team.
The Bulldogs and Spartans clashed in East Lansing on Friday night, to begin the series, but it was the Spartans who came out on top. The Bulldogs saw goals from forwards
Will Nicholson and
Dominic Melone in the contest. Goaltenders
Alexander Herman and
Danny Fielding shared the load for Adrian, with Herman making 35 saves on 39 shots, and Fielding, 11 saves on 12 shots in the loss. The two teams would then travel back to the Arrington Ice Arena for a rematch of Friday night, with the Spartans coming out victorious once again, this time in a shootout.
The MD2 Bulldogs will now look forward to the ACHA Regional Tournament, February 24-26 in St. Louis, Missouri, where they may have the chance to compete for a trip to the ACHA National Tournament in Boston, Massachussets in March. The final ranking of the MD2 Regular Season will be released this week to determine where the Bulldogs stand going into the tournament. The Bulldogs, who currently rank No. 9 in the Central Region, will need to stay in the top-14 to secure a spot in Regionals.
