ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 2 hockey team dominated all three of their games over the weekend, defeating Central Michigan University, Indiana Tech University, and Trine University, to improve their season record to 15-6.
The first of three contests featured the Bulldogs and Central Michigan, at the Arrington Ice Arena on Thursday night, with Adrian coming out on top, 6-1. The Bulldogs out shot CMU, 51-25, and received goals from five different players.
Dominic Melone tallied twice, while
Ryan Hoover,
Adam Hoff,
Griffin Clark, and
Matyas Mach each tallied once. Goaltender
Alexander Herman made 24 saves in the home victory.
The Bulldogs then traveled to Fort Wayne on Friday night to face off against the Warriors of Indiana Tech, where they would secure a 5-1 win, before they returned home to battle with rival Trine University Thunder at the Arrington Ice Arena on Sunday. Adrian would eventually shutout the Thunder by a 3-0 score, on goals from
Ryan Hoover,
Steven Cope, and
Sam Carper. Goaltender
Danny Fielding made 46 saves to earn the shutout triumph.
The MD2 Bulldogs will play their final two regular season games this Friday (7:30 PM) and Saturday against Michigan State University, in a home and home series, before the MD2 ACHA Regional Tournament at the end of February. Saturday's home contest will witness the MD2 Bulldogs Senior Night Ceremony to honor the Class of 2023 before the 5:00 PM puck drop.
