ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team took on Indiana Tech University over the weekend in a home and home series, losing both contests by a score of 3-1.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in Friday's matchup, at the Arrington Ice Arena, on a power-play goal by freshman forward
Tyla Turnbull, her 4th of the season. The Warriors of Indiana Tech would then score three unanswered tallies throughout the game, securing the win for the road team. Goaltender
Judith Schneider made 28 saves for Adrian in the loss.
The Bulldogs and Warriors would then travel to Fort Wayne on Saturday afternoon for a rematch, but it was the Warriors who came out on top again. This time, Adrian had out shot the Warriors by a 40-36 score, and it was sophomore forward
Rhea Peterson who found twine on the power-play for her 12th goal of the season in the second period, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors found the scoresheet three times. Schneider made 33 saves for the Bulldogs in the defeat.
The No. 2 WD1 Bulldogs will travel to Dearborn on Thursday night to take on UM-Dearborn at 7:00 PM. The team will then return to the Arrington Ice Arena for a matchup against McKendree University on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Saturday's contest will include a ceremony to honor the Senior Class of 2023.
