ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's wrestling team lost to Gannon University 28-20 in their first dual and ended the night victorious over Siena Heights 40-5 Tuesday evening. Tonight the Bulldogs honored seniors Aspen Dodge, Shaylyn Eggleston, Megan Vondrasek, Angela LoRusso, and graduate students Sienna Lejueune and Mackenzie Tayerle.
The Bulldogs would drop their first dual match against Gannon University 28-20. Bulldog junior Shawna Oesterling of the 143 class defeated Ariana Gonzalez of Gannon University via fall, awarding five points to the Bulldogs and senior Vondrasek would defeat Amara Devericks of Gannon University via fall in a 155 class matchup. Additionally Bulldogs Emily Mendez of the 109 class and Abigail Gearin of the 130 class won via forfeit tonight in the dual match.
In their second dual match, the women's wrestling team would defeat Siena Heights 40-5.
Senior LoRusso of the 116 class picked up right where she left off at the McKendree University Bearcat Open Sunday. Today, LoRusso would defeat Bailey Jones of Siena Heights via fall to continue her winning ways to start the month of February.
Oesterling would pick up another win tonight. This time she would defeat Phoenix Waters via fall to pick up her second win of the night.
Lastly, in her lone match for tonight, junior Aspen Dodge defeated Siena Heights' Alayna Smith via fall.
Bulldogs Mendez,Isabella Richardson, Geairn, and Lejeune picked up wins via forfeit this evening.
