ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team hosted Trine University in game two of the three-game series. The Bulldogs picked up a big win to tie the series and move to 4-4 in MIAA play.
Jakob Charles and
Ryan Davis were lights out on the mound for the Bulldogs as Adrian came away with a 5-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trine scored the first run of the game in the top of the fifth after a wild pitch with runners on second and third to lead 1-0.
- Adrian responded in the bottom of the fifth. After reaching on back-to-back errors by the Trine third basemen, Charles singled in a pair of runs to grab a 2-1 lead.
- In the sixth inning,
Easton Rogers hit a sacrifice fly to score
Edward Wagner and lead 3-1.
- Rogers added two more RBIs as he singled to center field and score two more to pull ahead 5-1 in the eighth inning.
- Rogers totaled three RBIs on the afternoon while Charles led the offense with two hits.
- Charles struck out ten batters in six innings on the mound allowing one run on three hits with a walk. Davis recorded his fourth save of the year after throwing three innings in relief where he allowed on hit and struck out two.

Due to weather on Sunday, Adrian's single game with Albion has been moved up to Friday at Albion College with a 4:00 PM start. The Bulldogs will return home for a doubleheader with Albion on Saturday starting at 1:00 PM.
