ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Adrian College men's golf team began the MIAA Automatic Qualifier on the road with the opening round hosted by Trine University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs shot a 303 in the opening round and currently sit in second place.

Hendrik de Koning and Joe Renfer finished the round shooting 75 to sit tied for fifth as individuals. Trevor Benoit shot a 76 to tie for tenth followed by Joe Kowatch in 12th with a 77 and Ryan Van Eyk in 20th with an 82.

Hope College holds the lead with a 290 followed by Adrian at 303, Trine University at 305, and Calvin University at 307.

The Bulldogs will play in the AC Eddy Invitational hosted by Trine on Tuesday, April 18 before finishing the MIAA Automatic Qualifier at Hope College on April 21-22.
