ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 3 hockey team took on the University of Michigan-Flint this past weekend in a home and home MCHC conference bout, falling to the Wolverines in two one-goal games, 3-2 in regulation and 4-3 in overtime.
The Bulldogs were in Burton, Michigan on Friday night to begin the series and competed with the Wolverines, keeping it close all the way until midway through the third period, when they gave up two power play goals to Flint.
Evan Bliss and
Henry Darnell provided the tallies for Adrian in the 3-2 loss while
Luc Miklos made 35 saves in the defeat.
The rematch took place on Sunday at the Arrington Ice Arena where the Bulldogs dominated for most of the game.
James Schmidt potted two goals, including one shorthanded, while
Tyler Allen buried one on the power play. Flint's attack was the difference in the game as they tied it late in the third before sealing it in overtime to take the series sweep. Miklos was stellar in net once again for Adrian, making 34 saves.
The MD3 Bulldogs will return to action on January 27-28 when they take on Western Michigan in a home and home. Puck drop on Saturday goes for 8:00 PM in Kalamazoo before Sunday's puck drop at 4:00 PM at the Arrington Ice Arena where the team will honor the Senior Class of 2024 before the game.
