ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team welcomed Liberty University to the Arrington Ice Arena this past weekend. The Bulldogs and Flames split the series, with Adrian winning game one on Friday and Liberty winning game two on Saturday.

The Bulldogs and Flames opened the series with a low-scoring affair, but it was the home team who found a way near the end, as Kali Foerster buried her third goal of the season off a pass from Tess McKerrow with less than seven minutes on the clock in the third period. Foerster's tally stood as the game-winner as the Bulldogs collected the 1-0 victory to extinguish the Flames. Fifth-year Adrian tender, Amanda Storey, was tremendous in goal, making 33 saves against her former team for her first shutout of the season.

On Saturday afternoon, it was the Flames who found revenge over the Bulldogs. After a scoreless first period, Liberty found twine three times in the second period to take a 3-0 lead into the third and final frame. One more goal from the Flames early in the third made it 4-0 before Adrian's Hailey Wiltshire tipped a McKerrow shot in front on the power-play with just under eight minutes remaining to make it 4-1. Although, that was all the Bulldogs could generate as the Flames held on to win and tie the series. Adrian goalie, Rieley Jessie-Gerelli, made 28 saves in the loss.

The 7-3-1 WD1 Bulldogs return to the ice this week for a home-and-home series with Grand Valley State University. The Bulldogs and Lakers will meet at the Arrington Ice Arena on Thursday at 7:30 PM and then in Hudsonville on Friday at 9:00 PM.
