ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team took the ice for a three-game home-stand this past weekend at the Arrington Ice Arena, taking on the McKendree Bearcats on Friday afternoon and then the Lake Superior State Lakers on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in a two-game conference bout. The Bulldogs came away with a loss to McKendree and two wins over Lake Superior.
The Bulldogs opened the weekend on the wrong side of things as the Bearcats came in to the AIA and left with a win. Adrian was out-shot 32-21 in the game and only mustered one goal through sixty minutes to McKendree's three. Bulldog forward,

Makenzie Villiard and
Taryn Morris to tie the game 1-1 after two periods. Although, the road team from Illinois added two more in the third frame to secure the 3-1 triumph. Adrian goaltender,
Amanda Storey, made 29 saves in the defeat.
Adrian bounced back on Saturday as they hosted LSSU in their first CCWHA conference series of the season. The Bulldogs dominated throughout the night, taking the game by a 6-2 score.
Chloe Gregory,
Allison Shaw,
Hailey Wiltshire (x2), Williams, and
Tyla Turnbull landed on the score sheet, while freshman tender,
Olivia Towpich, turned aside 14 of 16 shots faced in her first career college win. Captain,
Tess McKerrow, provided two helpers.
To wrap the weekend on Sunday, the Bulldogs continued to dominate the Lakers, this time blanking LSSU, 5-0. Bulldog goals from Gregory,
Taylor Robinson (SHG), Shaw, Turnbull, and Wiltshire made the difference in game three of the weekend. Villiard provided two assists and sophomore goaltender,
Taylor Kinkade, earned the shutout victory in goal, making 25 saves.
The WD1 Bulldogs move to 3-1-1 on the season and will welcome Niagara University to the Arrington Ice Arena next weekend. Puck drops at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 12 and 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 13.
