ADRIAN, Mich. -- The No. 5 Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team took on No. 8 University of Michigan-Dearborn in a home-and-home series this weekend. The Bulldogs came out on top with a 2-1 road win on Friday and a 4-2 home win at the Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday.
To kick it off on Friday, the Wolverines opened the scoring late in the first period at Dearborn Fieldhouse, taking a 1-0 lead into the second period. Adrian responded well, scoring once in the second, once in the third, and holding off the Wolverines to secure the 2-1 victory. Goaltender,
Rieley Jessie-Gerelli made 14 saves for Adrian in the win, while
Keira Eagleson and
Allison Shaw provided the scoring.
Adrian took it to the Wolverines again on Saturday, scoring all four of their goals in the second frame, before surrendering only two in the third to hold on for the sweep.

Makenzie Villiard, and Eagleson scored the Adrian goals to go along with Jessie-Gerelli's 22 saves which aided the triumph. The Bulldogs registered a total of 86 shots on the weekend.
The No. 5 WD1 Bulldogs will hit the highway for a three-game road trip to North Dakota this coming weekend. Adrian will face-off against No. 9 Minot State on Friday and Saturday, before closing the weekend against No. 14 Jamestown on Sunday.
