Men's Wrestling Dominates at the Kalahari Duals

SANDUSKY, OHIO. - The Adrian College men's wrestling team delivered an outstanding performance at the annual Kalahari Duals on Saturday, finishing a perfect 4-0. The Bulldogs showcased their dominance in every match, earning a series of commanding victories over strong opponents.

In their opening dual against John Carroll University, Adrian edged out a hard-fought 19-18 win. The Bulldogs were propelled by seniors Zach Phifer (125) and Tyler Davis (133), who both earned crucial wins by decision. Senior Sam Ross delivered a dramatic victory with a sudden victory in his bout, while junior Aiden Smith kept the momentum going with a pin at 157. After some back-and-forth results in the middle weights, Adrian's Blake Williams secured a key win by decision at 184. The dual came down to a tiebreaker, where the Bulldogs emerged victorious.

The second dual saw Adrian completely dominate Heidelberg University 35-6. The Bulldogs started fast with Phifer (125) winning by tech fall, Davis (133) securing a decision, and senior Mack Biard (141) pinning his opponent. Adrian's Spencer Vos (174) and Williams (184) both recorded impressive tech fall wins, while sophomore Daxton Looney wrapped up the dominant performance with a decision.

In their third dual, Adrian continued their relentless march, overpowering Mount St. Joseph University 36-9. Phifer and Davis set the tone with wins by pin and decision, while Biard (149) added another pin. Aiden Smith (157) remained on fire with a tech fall victory, and Vos (174) continued his streak with another dominant tech fall. Senior Blake Daniels (285) capped the win with a tech fall, as the Bulldogs extended their dominance.

Adrian finished off the day in style with a commanding 43-9 victory over Otterbein University in the final dual. The Bulldogs started strong with sophomore Max Mader winning by forfeit, followed by pins from Davis and Biard. Smith kept his perfect day intact with another pin at 157, and Adrian continued to roll with victories from Zach Platte (tech fall), Vos (tech fall), Williams (pin), and Looney (decision).

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, January 10th where they will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa to compete in the National Duals.
