GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 3 hockey team tallied sixteen times over two games against Davenport University, taking down the Panthers 9-1 and 7-0 for a weekend sweep.
Adrian opened its weekend with the first half of a dominant showing on Friday afternoon at the Arrington Ice Arena.
Solyom Andras,
Evan Bliss,
Anthony Alfonsi,
James Schmidt, and
Antonio Briggs-Blake each scored once on Friday, as well as
Nolan Doersch, who potted his first two career goals, and
AJ Guibord who added two of his own.
Jakob Malenich,
Owen Barber,
Adam Hoff, Schmidt, and Andras registered two helpers, while
Rex Goldberg made 24 saves in goal for Adrian in the 9-1 victory.
On Sunday in Grand Rapids, the Bulldogs continued their dominance, shutting out the Panthers by seven in their barn.
Henry Darnell, Alfonsi, Malenich, Barber, Bliss,
Nathan Polehna, and
Devin Bennett found twine and Briggs-Blake led the team with three apples in the contest.
Brandon Hiuser stood in goal and stopped all 14 shots faced for the shutout win.
The MD3 Bulldogs move to 7-6 on the season with the sweep of Davenport and will close the Fall semester schedule with a home-and-home series against Central Michigan this coming weekend on December 14-15.
