BURTON, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team will play for the CCWHA Division 1 Playoff Championship on Sunday, after defeating Lake Superior State and Michigan-Dearborn on Friday and Saturday.
Adrian opened their playoff run with a win over #3 seed in the West Division, Lake Superior State University on Friday in the quarterfinal round. The Bulldogs received goals from
Hailey Wiltshire,
Taylor Robinson, and
Keira Eagleson to move them on to Saturday's semifinal contest. Goaltender,
Chloe Burt, shut the door stopping 16 of 17 shots faced to earn the win.
Adrian met with #1 seed in the East Division, the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday night in Burton, where they collected another 3-1 win. Two goals from
Tyla Turnbull and one from Eagleson helped the Bulldogs move on to the CCWHA Championship for the sixth straight season. Burt made 28 saves on 29 shots to turn away the Wolverines and move her team on to Sunday's title match.
The WD1 Bulldogs will take on #1 seed in the West Division, Indiana Tech University, in the final for the third straight season. Puck drop at 3:30 PM at the Crystal Fieldhouse in Burton, Michigan.
